Welcome to A Child In Mind...
What does it mean?
A Child in Mind is a hypnoanalysis and psychoanalysis practise for alleviating problems of an emotional nature. These are generally problems that have been endured for many years and, more often than not, since childhood.
I am a fully qualified professional psychoanalyst and hypnotherapist based in Kings Hill, West Malling, Kent.
Many people experience situations that cause anxiety and what can be irrational reactions to every day events. Whichever of the following describes you it is possible to be free:
- An occasional irrational fear that interrupts life.
- A regular occurrence that spoils certain situation.
- A problem so severe it affects all aspects of life.
Mind Over Matter: The eminent French Scientist Michel-Eugene Chevreul explained MOM very succinctly back in the nineteenth century after discovering that when something is imagined the human body behaves in a way as if the imagined situation has already occurred. The prime example being: the swinging pendulum.
Later Emile Coue in the twentieth century demonstrated that imagination is the principal force of the human being and the language of the unconscious mind.
Much earlier than either Chevreul or Coue, Franz Anton Mesmer used examples of what became known as Animal Magnestism to demonstrate how cure could follow suggestion. He is often wrongly referred to as the man who discovered hypnosis. The method he adopted became known as Mesmerism. Unfortunately his success and fame led him into more and more bizarre ideas. To avoid scandal the term Mesmerism was dropped and Hypnosis adopted. The word Hypnosis means; a sleep like state.
Finally, Sigmund Freud, amidst much controversy, developed psychoanalysis, his own style of all the above and undertook treatment of patients suffering from psychosomatic conditions. (Conditions developed by the mind)
